To help people leave food hang-ups behind with simple, and intuitive eating resources. I am personally driven to share real food and keto/low carb recipes as this way of eating has changed my life.
I have always loved cooking, and creating recipes. However when I stumbled upon the book Keto Clarity in 2014 my health took a dramatic turn for the better. I had been gluten and dairy free for years, and still had stomach problems. I also dealt with nausea before bed most evenings. Now I know this was my blood sugar going low from my dinner a few hours before. Going keto helped me sleep better and my stomach finally seemed to stop hating me!
I take so much joy when a reader sends me a message or shares a picture of a recipe they have made at home. Not only do I get to create recipes for a “job” I get to help support people looking to get healthy. This awesome opportunity is not lost on me.
Eating the nutrient dense recipes I share on this site and fasting have been a game changer for me personally. Starting in late 2017 I started doing longer fasts of 2-5 days, in combination with the keto diet. It sounds crazy, but aside from the weight loss and blood sugar benefits, I showed myself just how strong mentally I could be. I finally was able to leave a lot of the disordered eating patterns that I had been dragging around since high school. I was able to eat without being scared of eating too much or counting calories. I strongly advise most people to let go of counting calories!
I have been creating recipes online since 2012 when I started my first food website, Easy Healthy Bread. Today I focus on real food keto recipes that are not sweet. I use keto sweeteners sparingly. My recipes are also very flexible, making them easy to adjust to your tastes, and also hard to mess up! No one wants to waste their money on ingredients for a recipe that doesn’t turn out tasty!
