Interview with Corah from Homespun Rabble Rouser

Homespun Rabble Rouser podcast

Week 5 of the A Real Food Journey the podcast! Let’s take a moment to say HAPPY NEW YEARS! The new year is a great time to refresh your food journey and I think Corah’s interview is the perfect motivation!

This week I interviewed Corah from the Homespun Rabble Rouser.  Corah and her family believe in living a slow, simple life with real food flowing through their body.  Corah was such an inspiring person to interview.  I often times think that eating real food is too time consuming, but I am blessed that I didn’t find this path through illness.  Corah, who has Lyme Disease but her story is so much more than that, is a strong role model and teacher for her kids and us too!  Her site, The Homespun Rabble Rouser is full of great recipes and her story.  Personally I found this interview inspirational, we talked a lot about what society says about beauty and weight in men and women, even in the real food movement we hear this type of talk.  Corah put it best when she said this devalues us as people, and teaches that we are not valuable unless we meet some sort of standard.  All I have to say is you need to listen, Corah is a well of wisdom!  Click here to see the episode in Itunes.

In this Episode we discuss:

      • Healthy Fats
      • Food Priorities
      • The Dirty Dozen
      • The imperfection of a real food eater- GRACE
      • Lyme Disease
      • The help of family and involving kids in the kitchen
      • Focusing on simplicity- 4 ingredients or less
      • Favorite Treats- A surprising answer from a gluten free, real foodie 🙂
      • Learning to accept yourself, how it relates to eating for health
      • How kids change your eating habits
      • Focusing on health not a number on the scale
      • The turning tide of food today
      • GMO’s and voter confusion
      • Take your diet changes a day at a time
      • Mini Habits http://bjfogg.com/ And a great article from Lifehacker– sorry for all the links, this is 100% fascinating
