Easy Veggie Side- Savory Roasted Asparagus

This is the perfect recipe for fresh in season asparagus. I don’t even like asparagus and I gobble this down! This method preserves the cruch a bit, so no mushy veggies!

Easy Roasted Asparagus Recipe

This is an amazingly simple recipe that has a great flavor.  Go grab some fresh local asparagus at the store, it’s everywhere right now!

Credit goes to my husband for this recipe, well I think I should get some of the credit, I put asparagus on the grocery list.  Right? Anyways to that recipe… delicious and easy, one special ingredient takes roasting to a whole new level.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound asparagus

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degree
  2. Trim the woody ends from your asparagus
  3. Place asparagus on a baking dish and drizzle with the sesame oil
  4. Sprinkle liberally with Furikake
  5. Roast in the oven for 15 min

Notes

Look for furikake with clean ingredients, a lot have sugar and other not so good stuff!

Enjoy!

See how simple this is?  The furikake is a sesame seed seasoning and adds an amazing savory flavor to the roasted asparagus.  Give it a try, I bet you’ll love it!

Cheers,

Heather

sounds awesome. I love sparagus drizzled with bacon flavored grapeseed oil (no meat involved, flavor from hickory), sprinkle with a seasoning. I use my Ranchers Steak Rub which is salt/pepper/garlic and a couple other spices, and put on the grill. Try this one, I am not a bacon fan, but WOW, so good.

That sounds really good! I don’t have any of that oil on hand but it sounds like you could do something similar with olive oil and maybe smoked paprika with salt and pepper. YUM! Great idea!

Another great and easy way to prepare Asparagus is to sauté it in olive oil until soft, but still crisp (You can also use butter or any type of oil to sauté it in).
Take and orange, lime and a lemon and grate some rind from each and mix with sea salt.
Top with the fruit rind/salt mixture and serve.

You can also use this recipe with mild white fish (Dover Sole is the best) and bake the fish in foil for 10 to 12 minutes in the oven at 500 degrees. Take out (Make sure to use non-stick butter flavored spray or real butter when baking in foil so it won’t stick).

Top fish off with fruit/sea salt mixture and serve.

    YUMMY.
