I know it can be difficult to find healthy Halloween snack recipes. This snack is not only a fun activity for you and your kids, but also a great pre or post treat or treat healthy Halloween snack. It can be tough to get your kids to fill their tummies with anything healthy when candy or other Halloween actives are on the brain! This snack is not so involved that you couldn’t do this on Halloween night together, you probably have all the ingredients you need at home now.
This recipe is more of a Halloween craft that you happen to be able to eat! It would make a super fun surprise in a lunch box as well! If you do the cutting, your kids can help with the fillings. Get creative with fillings! I used different combinations toppings.
Here are some healthy topping ideas:
- Creamy peanut butter or other nut butters
- Strawberry jam… for BLOOD!
- Banana slices
- Mini chocolate chips – my favorite brand is Enjoy Life they are dairy free, soy free, gluten free, nut free and more!
- Honey
- Salt
- Caramel
- Chocolate spreads like this awesome one from Nutiva
- Coconut flakes
- Raisins, craisins
